What is an asseverata translation and do I need one?

An asseverata translation is one the translator swears to be accurate in Italy. Italian law asks for foreign-language documents to come with a translation certified as conforming by a diplomatic or consular office or made by an official translator, so besides asseverata you can use a translation certified by the consular section of the Italian Embassy in Seoul. In Korea, an Embassy reference translator translates the apostilled original, and you book an appointment with the consular section and bring the original, the translation and a copy.

What is a dichiarazione di valore and do I need it for Italian university admission?

A dichiarazione di valore is a document issued by an Italian diplomatic or consular office describing the value of a foreign qualification. The Italian university ministry's (MUR) rules for international students say it is not mandatory, and that if the university asked for and you obtained a CIMEA comparability statement (attestato di comparabilità), you do not need to submit a dichiarazione di valore. Check with the university you are applying to.

Do I need apostilled Korean documents for Italian cittadinanza proceedings?

Yes. Citizenship by marriage or naturalisation needs the birth certificate (기본증명서) and criminal record certificate with an apostille and an official Italian translation.
