Netherlands
Destination Guide
The Netherlands is a major destination for Korean professionals and families, with strong demand for Korean document legalization for IND residence permits, highly skilled migrant visas, Nuffic credential evaluations, and civil registration at the gemeente. Korean documents must be apostilled by MOFA and translated by a beëdigd vertaler (sworn translator registered in the Dutch Rbtv register). Our specialists coordinate MOFA apostille and certified Dutch translation in one process.
Step-by-step instructions for each Korean document you need apostilled for Netherlands.
What is a beëdigd vertaler and why is one required?
A beëdigd vertaler is a sworn translator officially registered in the Dutch Rbtv register (Register beëdigde tolken en vertalers). Dutch authorities including the IND and gemeente only accept translations from Rbtv-registered sworn translators — standard certified translations are not accepted.
Does the Dutch IND require apostilled Korean documents?
Yes. The IND requires apostilled Korean documents for residence permit and visa applications. The apostille must be issued by MOFA in Korea. Documents must also be accompanied by beëdigd vertaler Dutch translations.
What do I need for a Dutch highly skilled migrant visa (kennismigrant) with Korean qualifications?
Kennismigrant visa applicants typically need apostilled Korean diplomas and transcripts with certified Dutch translations. Nuffic credential evaluation may also be required depending on the employer and role.
